10x10
Do you know how you’re celebrating International Day of the Girl? October 11th is this week and there are events happening all over the world. If there’s nothing planned yet in your area, it’s time for you to start making plans.

10x10 (one of our favorite organizations highlighting innovative ways to empower girls) is making it easy to attend or create your own International Day of the Girl event to raise awareness about the importance of educating girls. Just log on to 10x10’s website , check out their event map and locate local events held by corporations, organizations or regular folks like us. Or, register your own event so people in your community can find you. Then, log on to their Resource Center for information and ideas on what to do. Don’t worry about making this the party of the season. Just gather some friends, family or co-workers, pour some coffee and talk about the issues that hold girls backfrom reaching their full potential and the issues that propel them forward. Of course if you want to go all out with your event, that works too. The more people who celebrate with you, the greater the domino effect that will create the change we want to see in the world.
