5ks -still on- now more than ever!

Calling all 5K runners!  Now that the ING NYC Marathon has been cancelled, we need those of you outside of New York who were planning to run 5Ks, to do our running for us. 

As you know Hurricane Sandy hit New York hard and the marathon stood on soggy ground.  Even though we no longer get to run, we hope you will.  As for Team-EMC, we’ve committed to volunteering in the clean up effort in honor of our supporters and to support vulnerable pregnant women here in New York and around the world.  Those distances – 5K and 26.2 miles – aren’t just marathon distances – they represent how far women in developing countries often have to travel to reach critical maternal health care.  That resonates for us here in New York even stronger now that many of our transportation networks are disrupted. 

Your support is critical.  Sign up to run a 5K in your area or donate your running, walking and jogging miles to Charity Miles. And it’s not too late to join a team. All the information you need is here.  With your help, we’ll still run so other mothers don’t have to.
