Our Gratitude List – Let’s Build It Together
Thanksgiving is only one week away. As you polish the silver and pull out the china, give a little thought to what made you happy this year. As you pile your cart full of ingredients to create the best dinner of the year, think about how lucky you are to live in a country where food is abundant. As you bake your father’s favorite pie, make your grandmother’s stuffing recipe and fill your home with aromas that spark memories, think about those who’ve paved the way for you in life. And next Thursday, as you sit down to dinner with your friends and family, think about what this holiday really means. It’s about gratitude, pure and simple.
We’d love for you to send us a line or two about what you’re grateful for this year. As for those of us on the EMC team, here’s our gratitude list:
Christy, our founder says: I am grateful to be able to advocate for girls and women around the world alongside such an awesome team of women. I know I will be especially grateful when I return from Uganda for my family and my health this Thanksgiving.
Erin, our executive director says: I'm thankful for the two little people who seem to make every day more fun and yet more meaningful at the same time. Thankful I have such an incredible and supportive husband who stands by me through anything (and who watches said little people so that I can still do what I love around the world sometimes).
Clancy, our special projects manager says: I’m grateful I get to work with an amazing team of women, whom I learn from every day. I am also grateful for the love and support of my family and friends.
Jeanne, our writer and editor is grateful for the opportunity to join the EMC team and do great work and for her children, husband and beloved Scotty dog, Henry.
Wei Wei, our business development and partnerships manager says: I feel so lucky that I'm able to work on an issue that has a positive impact on women's lives around the world. I'm grateful for my health, the opportunities I've been given throughout my life to pursue my passions, and for the love and support I receive from my amazing sister Ting Ting, my parents, my partner-in-crime David, and my friends.
Sophie, our social media assistant says: I am grateful for each day filled with peace, love and support from my family and friends. I am also grateful to EMC for giving me the opportunity to work with this incredible group of women towards this important cause.
Kathie, who provides general counsel says: I am grateful for my two precious children, my husband and our ever-patient dog, and I am grateful for the opportunity to do meaningful work alongside the tremendous EMC team that can help save the lives of women and girls around the world.
Laura, our program assistant says: I am grateful to have opportunities in my life: the ability to choose where to live, to be able to choose a career I am passionate about, and have family, friends and colleagues who are supportive of my dreams. I am grateful for my health and the ability to learn and grow everyday.
Debra, our publicist says: She is grateful for her voice, which she gets to use everyday to increase awareness for Every Mother Counts and maternal health, her delicious daughter Ella, husband Patrick and entire network of family & friends.
Jessica, our portfolio manager says: I am grateful for my family, my husband and kids especially. I am so thankful for my fantastic new job, the wonderful women I get to work with, and for being so fortunate to have had the opportunities and choices I have had.
katharina@kikiwatchthecat says: I’m grateful for my husband.
Jen@MomsGottaRun says: I’m grateful for my husband’s life.
Maya says: I'm grateful that my children don't know hunger or what it's like to not have housing.
Camille says: I'm grateful for my loving family and for the ability to travel and learn everyday. I am also grateful for Almond Roca.
Tell us what you’re grateful for, join our “gratitude team” and help us build our gratitude list.
