We have a stack of books on our bedside tables that we can’t wait to share with you. Since our theme this month is, “Every Story Counts,” we’re thinking of this as our spring book club. Each one of the books listed below amplifies our respect for the women who wrote them and the stories they tell. Check these out as soon as possible. Then, email us and let us know which ones resonated for you.

A couple weeks ago, Christy introduced an article in the Huffington Post entitled, Reproductive Competition; The Politics of Pregnancy, which discussed the way Americans deal with miscarriage. Today, we’re asking the next question in our Every Story Counts series: Have you miscarried and who supported you through it? We asked Jessica Zucker, PhD, a clinical psychologist who specializes in women's reproductive and maternal mental health to share her thoughts on a subject that affects women all over the world.

Every Mother Counts is rolling out a brand new chapter and since our theme in March is Every Story Counts, we think it’s the perfect time to launch. We’re creating a Global Birth Club – an international gathering of pregnant women from all over the world who are coming together to share their stories through our blog, month-by-month throughout their pregnancies, births and beyond. Our plan is to compare, contrast, support and connect over the universal truths of pregnancy, birth and motherhood, which are similar across the globe, but distinct and unique for every mother.

Most of the time, our blood’s ability to clot is nothing short of a miracle. Without that mad skill, we could bleed to death from something as minor as a shaving nick. Sometimes, however, blood clots in ways and places we don’t want it to, which can lead to serious health problems. In the case of maternal health, blood clots can sometimes lead to pulmonary embolus, a leading contributor to maternal death.
