Following the panel discussion, there will be a screening of the documentary film, No Woman, No Cry,by Christy Turlington Burns. The film, which was premiered on the Oprah Winfrey Network earlier this spring, presents powerful stories of at-risk women from four parts of the world.
The memorial lecture is named in honor of the late Heather Egan Haynes, a Haydenville resident, who died of a severe form of postpartum hemorrhage, in May 2007. Haynes was a Julliard graduate and dancer who applied her training in movement to the field of occupational therapy. She delighted in caring for children, and participated in many community activities in and around the Pioneer Valley. She was a member of Northampton’s First Churches.
