And as we were going door to door on Capital Hill delivering our message yesterday, VAWA was passed and everyone's energy soared reaffirming the purpose of our visits.

    It’s a good day for women in America. The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), which passed in the Senate a couple weeks ago, has now passed in the House and is on its way to President Obama for signature.  This was in no way, a slam-dunk and many of us were holding our breaths to see what Congress would do with this bill.  Check out our Love Letter to Congress asking them to protect women against gender-based violence.

    One of Kevin Dwan’s few regrets is that he never told Sabrina he knew she was the one the first time he heard her voice. “I called her cell to coordinate where our friends were meeting at a golf tournament. She said ‘hello,’ and I went from driving 90 miles per hour to catch up to everyone to slowing down to find a razor and toothbrush. Kevin and Sabrina met twelve years ago. Their story isn’t over, but it hasn’t been all that happy.
