Planned Parenthood Federation of America
Planned Parenthood delivers vital reproductive health care, sex education, and information to millions of women, men, and young people worldwide. For more than 90 years, Planned Parenthood has promoted a commonsense approach to women’s health and well-being, based on respect for each individual’s right to make informed, independent decisions about health, sex, and family planning.
Planned Parenthood is dedicated to overcoming barriers to accessing reproductive health services and exercising reproductive rights by empowering this generation and the next, worldwide. The Planned Parenthood Federation of America International Program addresses these challenges through innovative projects in 17 countries in Africa, Asia, and Latin America.”
Internationally, Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA) is dedicated to overcoming barriers to accessing reproductive health care and exercising reproductive rights by empowering this generation and the next, worldwide. For many individuals around the world, access to vital reproductive and sexual health care and information is blocked — by poverty, a lack of basic services, restrictive laws, or war.
Planned Parenthood works with local partners in Africa, Asia, and Latin America to overcome these barriers by increasing access to health care and education. Planned Parenthood nurtures local leadership, fosters sustainable health and education programs, and fights for legal, social, and political improvements in communities around the world.
Planned Parenthood’s International Program also advocates for sound U.S. foreign policies that improve the sexual health and well-being of individuals and families globally. As a key part of that effort, Planned Parenthood affiliates form partnerships with women’s groups and family planning providers in the developing world to share expertise, experience, and ideas.
