Choices in Childbirth’s Doula Report is Out

Every Mother Counts recently funded a new grant to Ancient Song Doula Services in New York City because we value the contribution doula care makes to the pregnancies, births and postpartum periods of New York mothers.
This week, Choices in Childbirth (CiC), (a New York based non-profit advocacy organization working to insure that all New York mothers have access to the information and services they need to understand their rights and options for birth) released a comprehensive report titled, “Doula Care in New York City: Advancing the Goals of the Affordable Care Act, to address the concerns that we hear from women across the city.” CiC says, “The Affordable Care Act’s triple-aim of improving health outcomes, increasing satisfaction with the care experience, and eliminating unnecessary costs has created an unprecedented opportunity for maternity care stakeholders to work together and improve the quality of care available to NYC women.” We encourage you to read and share the report and help Every Mother Counts raise awareness about efforts being made to make pregnancy and childbirth safe for every mother — even those in the United States.
