Merck for Mothers
In 2020, Every Mother Counts with support from Merck for Mothers* developed a COVID-19 Response Fund. The pandemic has exacerbated the existing maternal health crisis in the U.S., deepening health disparities and making it even more difficult to give birth safely and with dignity. In response, this effort is deploying funds to support community-based organizations working on the frontlines to ensure communities most affected by COVID-19 have access to safe, respectful, and high-quality maternity care and support and by engaging in health systems-change work.
Note: Merck for Mothers is known as MSD for Mothers outside the United States and Canada.
What Women Want
Every Mother Counts is a member of the steering committee of the What Women Want (WWW) initiative. The goal of WWW is to query 1 million women and girls worldwide by the end of 2018 about their top priorities for quality maternal and reproductive health services. Our partners include White Ribbon Alliance, the International Confederation of Midwives, UN Women, and other organizations dedicated to improving global maternal health.
Alliance for Innovation on Maternal Health (AIM)
In 2017, Every Mother Counts became a partner in AIM, a national quality improvement alliance to promote consistent and safe maternity care to reduce maternal mortality. Led by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), core partners include the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM), the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP), and Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), among others.
Childbirth Connection Programs of the National Partnership for Women and Families
An ally since Every Mother Count’s earliest days, Childbirth Connection provides evidence-based resources to women and their families to help them make informed decisions about their care that best meets their needs and values.
